A soap sleeve is an open-ended band of board that wraps around the middle of a bar, leaving both ends visible. It uses less material than a full box and lets the soap show and its scent carry, which suits makers who want minimal packaging that still carries branding.
Getting the fit right
A sleeve relies on tension to stay put, so the internal size has to match the bar closely. Too loose and it slides off; too tight and it is hard to fit without marking the soap. Because the bar's exposed ends are on show, a clean, even sleeve position looks far more considered.
Print on a narrow band
The printable area is limited to the width of the sleeve.
- Size the sleeve to grip the bar without forcing
- Keep key branding within the sleeve's narrow band
- Decide how much of the bar you want left on view
Ordering and consistency
Since a sleeve shows the bar at both ends, any variation in how the bar is cut is on view, so a consistent bar helps the finished pack look neat. If you run several scents at one size, a single sleeve size with a changing print keeps stock simple. Raise your bar dimensions and range when you request a quote.
Sleeves are made to your custom size. A sample is well worth it here, since the hold depends entirely on matching the sleeve to your specific bar.
